I don’t think I’ll ever get to visit, but holy cow! It’s worth taking a look at the gorgeous pics!

Qasr Al Sarab sits embedded in one of the largest sand deserts in the world, the Empty Quarter or Rub’ al Khali as it’s known locally.

Isolated from the outside world, the luxury Liwa Desert resort is perfect for some well deserved rest and relaxation. The drive is about an hour through the desert from the centre of Abu Dhabi. All of a sudden you see this in the midst of the sand dunes.20130514-191449.jpg20130514-191437.jpg20130514-191554.jpg20130514-191608.jpg
The reception area is quite stunning, it really feels as though you are in an ancient Arabian fortress.20130514-191731.jpg20130514-191749.jpg20130514-191810.jpg20130514-191929.jpg
The view from the terrace is pretty spectacular.20130514-192031.jpg20130514-192111.jpg20130514-192156.jpg20130514-192208.jpg20130514-192236.jpg
We were then taken on a journey through the windy maze of the hotel to our room.20130514-192359.jpg20130514-192411.jpg20130514-192428.jpg
Not bad!20130514-192608.jpg20130514-192622.jpg20130514-192638.jpg20130514-192652.jpg20130514-192743.jpg20130514-192758.jpg20130514-192810.jpg20130514-192823.jpg
Of course when you’re in the desert you need somewhere to cool off.20130514-193048.jpg20130514-193126.jpg

The restaurants are all very good and the service second to none. I would highly recommend.
