So I just read about the coolest new retail concept in Paris, Merci(thank you Hip Paris Blog!).  It was started a few years ago by the owners of the highly successful high end childrenswear line, Bonpoint.  The cool thing about Merci is that they give back quite a lot of the proceeds as a way of saying ‘thank you’ (get it?) for their success.  They chose an area in Madagascar, and are helping to educate and feed needy children there…

The store itself houses all kinds of cool items from apparel, to housewares, to yes, used books…my kind of place.  On top of that, they have 3 separate cafes within the store to fortify shoppers and offer an oasis of relaxation.

Womenswear and menswear…

They offer an interesting beauty department with carefully curated lines like Aesop (Australia)…

And France’s own Annick Goutal…

Their home department is lovely too….

But the best part is, they have online ordering, so although you can’t experience it fully unless you happen to be in Paris, you can still shop for some of their merchandise from the comfort of your own home, wherever that happens to be!
