Lest you think that we went to NYC on a sweets binge, let me tell you about a few (hidden) Japanese places worth your while…Celia and I stopped for some tea and refreshments in this tiny east village establishment (230 E. 9th).  It is minuscule and yes, we did have to wait for a table, but it was well worth it for the decor alone.  Even though every table was taken, we did not feel rushed in any way.  The small nibbles serve only as a lovely foil for the exquisite tea offerings, from exotic Japanese white teas to several Chinese pu-erh choices.  A lovely stop if you’re looking for something unique and memorable…
